The Author: Dr. Robert Gifford  is Professor of Psychology and Environmental Studies at the University of Victoria, Editor of the Journal of Environmental Psychology, Past President of the Environmental Psychology Division of the International Association of Applied Psychology, Past President of APA Division 34 (Population and Environment), Fellow of the American Psychological Association, Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science, and Fellow of the Canadian Psychological Association.  Professor Gifford has taught environmental psychology for over 30 years.
